Frequently Asked Questions

How do I record a memory?

Simply tap the microphone button on the Record tab. Start speaking to record your thoughts. You'll see a live waveform visualization as you record. When you're done, tap the stop button and your recording will be automatically transcribed and saved.

How accurate is the transcription?

Lifelog turns your recordings into written transcripts automatically. Accuracy is usually very high for clear audio, but it can vary with background noise, distance from the microphone, accents, and how fast you speak. If more than one person is talking, the transcript may label different speakers.

What's the difference between Free and Lifelog Premium?

The main differences are:

  • Free: 3 memories/week, 3 min audio/week, 1 min per recording, 100 total memories limit
  • Lifelog Premium: 30 min audio/week, 3 min per recording, unlimited memories, search transcripts

How do I export my data?

You can export all your memories and transcripts as a CSV file from the Profile screen. Simply tap the "Export Data" button and your data will be downloaded. This includes all your recordings' metadata, transcripts, titles, tags, and emotions.

How do I delete my account?

Go to your Profile screen and scroll down to find the "Delete Account" option. This will permanently delete your account and all associated data. We recommend exporting your data first if you want to keep a copy. Deleted data is purged from our systems within 30 days.

What devices are supported?

Lifelog is available for iOS and Android devices. We support iOS 13 and above, and Android 9 (API level 28) and above. You'll need to grant microphone permission to record audio.

Do I need an internet connection?

You can record while offline. An internet connection is needed to upload your recording, create the transcript and title, add your entry doodle, and sync with the cloud. Anything recorded offline will finish processing once you are back online.

How is my data protected?

Your recordings, transcripts, and account data are protected with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and encryption at rest on our cloud infrastructure (Supabase). We do not sell your data. Lifelog does not use client-side keys that only you hold—this is standard cloud security, not end-to-end encryption where even the service provider cannot decrypt your content.

System Requirements

  • iOS: Version 13.0 or later
  • Android: Version 9.0 (API level 28) or later
  • Permissions: Microphone access required
  • Internet: Required for transcription and cloud sync
  • Storage: Varies based on number of recordings
